Systems, Software and Services Process Improvement

Collected in this volume are the peer-reviewed papers from the 24th EuroSPI conference, held in Ostrava, Czech Republic, in September 2017. From 97 submissions, the organizers chose 56 full papers, which were reviewed and then revised for publication.

The contributions are arranged by theme. Several sections examine how process improvement applies to very small entities, to different process models, to safety-critical work, to project management and to putting improvements into practice. Others focus on issues in the field and on the automotive sector, and the book also includes selected keynote and workshop papers.

Later sections cover gamification as a route to software process improvement, process improvement in Industry 4.0, and best practices for implementing traceability. Further chapters look at good and bad practices in improvement, safety and security, experiences with agile and lean methods, standards and assessment models, and the team skills and diversity strategies that support improvement efforts.
