Taking Wing

Colin has already paid a heavy price for his fight with Eric. His companions are dead, his face bears scars, and the people who once stood beside him now track him as a target. Only his skein armor and his sister remain to him. Eric plans to tear through the town and lock her away once more, and the reason behind it is a hope of healing her.

Two hidden truths complicate everything. The first concerns the magic of the skein, which might grant Colin the power to match his relentless enemy, provided he can stop Eric from claiming that power for himself. The second threatens to destroy everything Colin has struggled to build, even if he comes out on top.

With his final allies and whatever courage he can muster, Colin prepares to confront a danger his armor cannot protect him from. The question hanging over it all is whether anyone can stop a killer when the hero alone is not enough.
