Tapestry

Differences between people, whether of race, faith, bodily deformity, or the places they come from, can slide into suspicion, dread, and misreading one another, and sometimes into open hatred. Throughout history, communities have repeatedly convinced themselves that survival requires removing those they label as different and therefore lesser, and that belief has driven people to treat others with a cruelty that denies their shared humanity.

The author's answer begins with where people come from. Human beings were fashioned to reflect the likeness of Almighty God, and that likeness belongs to no single group. Rather than setting people apart, God's design weaves their differences into one pattern. The book takes that pattern as its subject, exploring how people might see their shared humanity as part of the Tapestry of Almighty God.
