Temporary Duty

Meg Atkins is a young, unmarried woman who works as a computer programmer for a contractor at a military base. There she meets Marine Sergeant Cory Randall, who has been posted to the base only for a set period. Cory attends Meg's church, where he quickly became friends with her landlord's household, the Claytons. He now coaches their young sons at basketball, which often leads to him joining the family for supper. Meg is a regular at that table too, and the two of them serve together in the church's teen ministry, so their paths cross often.

Meg knows that military personnel can be reassigned to another station at any moment, and she is aware of this every day at work. She respects Cory's firm Christian faith, but she has also committed to Jesus to remain sexually pure and abstain until marriage. For now she has chosen to keep their relationship to friendship and to trust God with her future husband.

This is the second book in the Temporary Duty series. It follows Meg and Cory as each grows in devotion to the Lord Jesus and as their relationship with one another develops.
