Terraced hell

This book is a sad but fitting tribute to those who didn't return. Whatever the motives of the war might have been, the author says, we must never forget the immeasurable sacrifices of these almost forgotten men and women. This illustrated war memoir is intensely interesting, if somewhat gruesome reading, ans is a valuable and important contribution to the literature of World War II.
