The Anticlockwise Proposal

Simon sets off to circle the globe in search of a ring worthy of a marriage proposal, and the trip pulls him into far stranger territory than he imagined. He stages a fresh take on a high-profile double killing, books a room at a Chinese torture facility, plays James Bond in an underwater film, and joins a toilet-paper hunt inside an opium den.

Along the way he meets a cast of colorful characters, including Cantonese singers with operatic voices, socialites who carry Chihuahuas as accessories, shady diamond traders, and secret agents henpecked at home. Each encounter tests his patience and his luck.

The story asks whether Simon can finally win over his girlfriend, or whether his plans will collapse and he will end up a bachelor for life.
