About this book
This picture book is told in a cumulative, rhyming style, much like the house that Jack built. It begins with the lair the bears shared, then moves on to the hair that came from that lair. Next comes the bird that borrowed the hair to build a nest high in a tall tree, where the branches thrash as thunder crashes during a springtime storm.
As the verses pile up, the story shows how animals find shelter, warmth, home and family while the weather rages around them.
Kim Norman wrote the rhythmic text and David Walker created the illustrations. The book suits reading aloud to animal lovers, nature fans, and any children and grown-ups with love to share.
