The Chainmakers

Anna Gibson's days are spent in the chainshops of the Black Country, where the heat is oppressive and most families struggle to get by. She must piece together a future after being deceived by the man she loved and after entering a marriage arranged for practical reasons rather than affection.

At its heart, this is a love story that follows Anna as she works to rebuild her life amid the harsh conditions of the workshops. The focus is on her resolve in the wake of betrayal and an unhappy match.
