The Choice

Everything begins with choice, and every person has more of them than they realize. Misery over failure, ignorance, sorrow, lack of money, shame, or self-pity is not a fixed fate. Yet the book asks why so many people seem to settle for that kind of life. Its answer is straightforward: people stuck in unhappiness have never used their alternatives, mainly because they never knew those alternatives existed. The author, Og Mandino, is best known for The Greatest Salesman in the World.
