The Cloud Messenger

Mehran leaves Karachi for London, the distant rainy city where his father once lived. There his adult life unfolds. He discovers the joys of poetry, struggles with love and work, and spends his dreaming hours sending cloud messages to other places.

Restlessness follows him as he travels to Italy, India and Pakistan. Along the way he forms relationships with the wounded, passionate Marvi, the volatile Marco and the enigmatic Riccarda. These bonds, together with his powers of recollection, finally give him a sense of belonging, however fleeting. The novel is a poignant tribute to lost love.
