The Conformity

Three companions, the veteran Shreve, the hard-edged Jack, and Ember, who cannot speak, head to Maryland to uncover the truth about "the elder", an ancient and malign power lurking somewhere near Baltimore. Its psychic tremors ripple outward and bring chaos, waves of suicides, and a creeping sense that civilization is nearing its collapse.

This installment is the third in its series. Readers should know that the story includes frequent strong profanity and sexual references.
