The Crown

In a peaceful village that is closer than you might think, a strange box turns up outside the castle gates. Inside is a crown and a single instruction: whoever wears the crown makes the rules, and there are no exceptions. The guard who finds it does exactly what you would expect. He puts it on and declares himself king.

That is where the trouble starts. Soon the king, the villagers, a gang of alligators with a serious fish butt habit, and one enormous orange dragon are all tugging on the crown, quite literally, and every one of them is certain it belongs to them. The village that was once so calm is now anything but.

This is a loud, silly picture book about who gets to hold power and what happens when everybody wants it at once. It is packed with giggles and gross-out humor, and it saves a surprise for the very last page.
