The Devil's Embrace

Calix Valimir has a simple aim: find the killer who is terrorizing the galaxy, then leave the planet Emergence before anyone can recognize him. That hope does not last, because he is identified on his very first night. He is saved by Doctor Aodhan Solace, the town's golden boy. Cal's past mistakes have taught him to keep people out, yet something about the charming doctor makes him lower his guard, however hard he fights it. He knows that nobody in this universe is what they seem and that no one can be trusted. Even so, with each touch he falls further for a man he is sure must be lying, because everyone lies, himself included.

Aodhan enjoys games but lacks the patience to keep one going for long. His passing interest in the detective becomes real desire when Cal gives in to his twisted demands. Cal claims to be working on the side of good, yet he pleads so sweetly when he is restrained. Aodhan has a reputation to protect, but the more time he spends with Cal, the more he wants to drop the mask and show who he really is. First he must convince Mercy to let him.

Mercy is always in control, and that includes this situation. When Aodhan comes to him asking to bring in a third, Mercy plays hard to get to keep things interesting. In truth he knows exactly what he wants and how to get it.

The Devil's Embrace is a science fiction romance with a dark, erotic edge and a detective at its center.
