The fall line

Jack Farrell was once a rising investment banker until he began moving money for a dangerous drug cartel, a choice that cost him his career and put him in the crosshairs of both the criminals and federal agents. Hiding out in the mountains of Utah, he takes on a new name and a reconstructed face, hoping distance will be enough to leave his former life behind. Yet the restless appetite for risk that drove him into trouble is still part of him, and he wonders whether it can be outrun at all.

Idle in the quiet of his new life, Jack becomes entangled with Inez Didier, a French filmmaker who follows the world's boldest skiers as they chase extreme lines down steep, unforgiving terrain. Working alongside her pulls him deeper into a world of dangerous pursuits, and he must fight to restrain his own impulses. As long-buried details of his past start to resurface, the precarious life he has rebuilt begins to unravel.
