The Gift

This memoir follows the life of Mia Dolan, a clairvoyant whose career has taken her from private one-to-one readings to investigations of haunted places and live psychic displays before large audiences. Often described as the new Betty Shine, she is counted among the most in-demand psychics in Britain.

The story starts on the Isle of Sheppey, where Dolan grew up as an ordinary girl in a working-class household. At twelve, after being sexually assaulted by a local teenager, she had her first out-of-body experience. At twenty-two, a spirit guide began speaking to her, teaching her how to work with her clairvoyant abilities and sharing views on the afterlife.

Tragic experiences also mark her life, including an occasion on which she foresaw a painful event.
