The Hideout

Juliet Saunders walked away from a law career that had worn her down, and now she owns a private bar, though whether that counts as a sensible move is still an open question. Set on making the venture work, she plans to reshape the place with a fresh lineup of signature drinks.

Juliet has always kept feelings out of her work and her personal life, yet she is drawn to her new mixologist, Paige Harrison, a striking and playful blonde who stirs something in Juliet she has not felt in years. Before her interview, Paige had looked into her future employer online, but nothing she found prepared her for Juliet's commanding presence and her slow, teasing grin.

Paige has moved from one short-term bar job to the next, and The Hideout appeals to her because it is a members-only venue where she believes her history is unlikely to follow her inside. As the new relationship deepens, though, she begins to lose sight of the possibility that feeling safe may be an illusion, and the past is never far behind.
