The Night Window

Jane Hawk has spent four books running from a conspiracy that has killed thousands, and in The Night Window her one-woman war reaches its climax. The rogue former FBI agent is closing in on the people behind it, the same people who have been hunting her, and she is ready to give up her own life if that is what it takes to bring them down.

The story moves between several threads at once. A young filmmaker with real vision is hunted for sport across a huge Colorado ranch by a celebrated billionaire who sits at the heart of the cabal. A gifted hacker slips through top-secret databases just ahead of the security trackers, collecting the evidence needed to expose the mass murderers. Two ruthless operators use every tool of the modern surveillance state to trail their targets without letting up.

Meanwhile a Las Vegas mob boss and a homicidal sociopath have joined forces and are circling a much-loved boy and the people protecting him. Their plan is to seize him and use him as leverage against his fugitive mother, Jane herself. Standing against all this is a string of ordinary citizens who step forward as quiet heroes, determined to push back against the spreading darkness.

The Night Window is the fifth and final novel in Dean Koontz's Jane Hawk series, which began with The Silent Corner and continued through The Whispering Room, The Crooked Staircase and The Forbidden Door. It brings her story to its end, with plenty of twists, action and warmth, as she fights for justice, for revenge and for humanity's freedom.
