The other Einstein

Long overshadowed by her famous husband, Mitza Maric was a gifted physicist in her own right. Her possible role in the special theory of relativity remains a point of dispute, and the question of whether her own sharp, deeply personal insight shaped his work sits at the center of this novel.

Mitza has never fit the mold expected of young women. At twenty, when most of her peers have already married, she is studying physics at an elite Zurich university, surrounded by male classmates eager to best her calculations. She has decided that mathematics offers a more reliable future than marriage. Then a fellow student, Albert Einstein, begins to notice her, and her carefully planned path shifts.

Their bond grows into a partnership of intellect and emotion. Yet the story asks whether a marriage can hold more than one genius.
