The pact

Steven Russell is a young navy recruit whose dread of the coming war grows with every New York headline and radio bulletin. A poet and dreamer, he pictures a future of carnage, bombs and mangled bodies. Drawn to the occult, he makes a desperate bargain: his soul in exchange for surviving World War II. He leaves his new bride with a confident smile, but the Devil is the one who wins in the end.

More than forty years later, Marjorie Russell still grieves the husband she lost in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Lately, though, his voice reaches her in unsettling dreams, distant and eerie, calling her. Steven is believed to have gone down with the sea, yet Marjorie begins to wonder whether he truly died.

Determined to uncover what really happened to Steven, Marjorie sets out to find the truth, and a terrifying supernatural ordeal is only beginning.
