The Parcel

Madhu is a forty-year-old transgender sex worker in Bombay's red-light district. She has left the trade she followed from her teens and now begs in order to support Gurumai, the leader of the hijras.

One day a call comes from Padma Madam, the most feared brothel owner in the district. A 'parcel' has arrived: a ten-year-old girl from the provinces, betrayed and sold by her own aunt. Madhu is given the harrowing job of preparing the child for what is to come.
