The Remembering Box

Joshua spends every Friday night and all of Saturday with his grandmother, observing the Jewish Sabbath together. On Friday evening Grandma blesses the Sabbath lights, and the two share a traditional meal.

On Saturday afternoon they sit down with what they call the remembering box. Joshua pulls out one item, and Grandma tells the story behind it. The stories she tells make these afternoons something special for them both.
