The Secrets We Keep

Sophie is still struggling with anxiety after a freak car accident took her husband and only child. Her grief has pulled her into a solitary life, where she works alone and her closest companion is her dog, Miss Molly. When she accepts the task of reading the draft of an emerging author, she has no idea how closely it will touch her own past.

The manuscript is more than invented fiction. It stirs up buried secrets, and to learn what actually happened, Sophie must find the nerve to begin a search that will alter the course of her life.

Madelyn-May is a popular mommy blogger whose followers see only a flawless mother with a devoted husband, twin children and an idyllic home. Behind that image she is hiding a secret of her own. When her history collides with her present, she is forced into a choice that could wreck everything she cherishes.

The novel asks how much a person might risk to heal a wounded heart, and whether telling the truth is worth losing everyone you love. It explores the complicated ties of family and how far a mother will go for her child.
