Theory Time

This music theory workbook is the third volume in the Theory Time series, designed for young learners starting their study of music. It opens with the letter names used in music, then moves through the staff, rests, and the rule for stem direction. Students practice drawing the treble and bass clefs and learning the notes on their lines and spaces, followed by the grand staff, measures, bar lines, and the double bar line.

Later lessons introduce intervals on both the keyboard and the staff, along with half steps, whole steps, sharps, and flats. Students learn the pattern that defines a major scale and apply it to the scales of C, F, and G. The book also includes rhythm drills, triads, a vocabulary section, ear-training exercises, and a review test.
