Courtney Bishop is known for her blueberry muffins, and those who have tasted them will say they are the real thing. Southern at heart, she chose to make her home in California. She first came into the narrator's life as a roommate and quickly became a close friend. Their friendship stayed platonic until the narrator started to see her differently: a woman just as comfortable splitting firewood, helping with a birth on the farm, or stacking hay as she is baking.

Moving from friends to something more is harder than either of them expected. The narrator wants a shared future and a life full of new memories, but old history keeps resurfacing, and it is unclear whether Courtney will commit to the journey. The narrator knows that losing her would be devastating. Meanwhile, a strong attraction and a chemistry neither can deny keep pulling them together, even as they push each other away.

The narrator is determined to prove that what they share is worth fighting for, even while the situation is still far from settled. This is the second book in the Drew & Courtney duet, and it should be read after the first. It is intended for mature readers.
