Tiny Dino Worlds
About This Book
Tiny Dino Worlds is a hands-on activity book for children aged 4 to 10, to be used with an adult's help. Instead of the usual cardboard dioramas, it shows kids, and dinosaur fans of any age, how to build prehistoric habitats using real plants. The projects range from active volcanoes and dino poop to handmade fossils and interactive terrariums. Children can plan a Jurassic world planted with species that look like prehistoric ones, or stage a battle between a T-rex and a Triceratops. Other projects include sticky mud traps made from homemade slime and "ice eggs" that are cracked open to reveal a hidden dinosaur. The book draws on the latest discoveries and some odd but true facts from paleontologists Justin Tweet and Dr. Karen Chin. It was written by Christine Bayles Kortsch, a crafty mom, together with the two paleontologists, and is illustrated with photography throughout.
