Total Freedom
About This Book
Total Freedom is a selection of the writings and talks of Jiddu Krishnamurti, an Indian-born philosopher and spiritual teacher. It was compiled by the trustees of his work to bring together his most essential ideas in one volume. His admirers have included Jonas Salk, Aldous Huxley, David Hockney and Van Morrison, as well as many writers, artists, philosophers and students of the spiritual path. The book draws on his early works, his Commentaries on Living, and his discourses on life, the self, meditation, sex and love. It presents his core teachings: the nature of personal freedom, the mysteries of life and death, and the 'pathless land', the individual search for truth and peace. Krishnamurti warned people against blind obedience to creeds or teachers, himself included, and urged each person to pursue the truth independently. That stance made him one of the most influential guides for independent-minded seekers in the twentieth century and later.
