Toward a Common Future

Written for congregations separated by long-standing doctrinal conflicts, this book offers a concrete plan for working toward a shared understanding of church unity. Its author addresses the stalled state of much of the modern ecumenical movement and asks how such churches might advance again.

The argument draws on the theological conversations that have already taken place between different churches. From those discussions, the book identifies practical steps that could restore the forward energy that the ecumenical effort appears to have lost in recent years.
