About this book
Kranti is a fashion designer from India with a successful life in Paris, and she has ended it by her own hand. What she leaves behind is a pair of notebooks and a set of paintings. Nobody around her can explain why someone with so much would choose to die.
Robert-Pierre, a psychiatrist, was her lover. He is married and has always kept his two lives carefully apart, but Kranti's death forces him to try to understand her. As he reads and searches, his own carefully arranged world starts to come undone.
The novel moves between India and Paris as it asks what is written in Kranti's notebooks, and whether those secrets pushed her toward her death. It is a fast, vividly told story that holds its tension until the final page.
