Trapped Fools

Drawing on his own years of service, Shlomo Gazit examines how successive Israeli governments approached the West Bank and Gaza across roughly three decades. The book is a critical study rather than a memoir, tracing the policy choices and their consequences. Its title points at a double charge: the Arabs who turned down Israeli offers of peace are one target, and Israelis who shaped and accepted the course of events are the other.
