Trappist

When Dr. Shamir, the protégé of Doc Murphy, was killed in a devastating explosion in space, Doc's life was upended. A hostile government has since pursued him relentlessly, subjecting him to violence, kidnapping him, and holding his family captive. Strange memories from his own past surface at the same time, leaving him struggling to keep up with the upheaval that has replaced his quiet routine.

He is forced into an uneasy alliance with a smuggler who has just been released from prison, a stern old man with no patience for humor, and an operative from the Space Agency. Together they chase a mysterious signal beacon originating from beyond the regions humanity has colonized. The journey pushes human ingenuity to its limits, and Doc must drive himself to the edge, risking his life in a race against time to solve the mystery behind Dr. Shamir's death.
