Treasure State

Treasure State brings back investigator Cassie Dewell, whose series inspired the ABC crime drama Big Sky, created by David E. Kelley of Big Little Lies. This time Cassie travels to Anaconda, Montana, to find a slippery con man who has vanished somewhere in the Treasure State. A wealthy divorcee from California says he made off with her entire fortune, and she wants Cassie to track him down and recover it. Anaconda is a quirky former copper mining town, and it is an ideal place to start over under a new identity. As the case moves forward, Cassie starts to suspect that her client is not telling her the whole story. She also has a second case to juggle: rumors of a treasure buried somewhere nearby have set adventure-seeking hunters against one another in a ruthless race to find it. The novel follows The Bitterroots in the Cassie Dewell series. Its author, C. J. Box, also writes the Joe Pickett series.
