Trial 48

Lee Jensen is trying to build a revolutionary energy storage system, a better battery, and it is going badly. He has run forty-seven tests and logged forty-seven failures, at great expense, and the pressure to deliver a positive result is overwhelming. For Trial 48, he makes a small change to the standard operating protocol. What could go wrong?

The answer arrives in a flash of blinding light. Afterward, Lee discovers that two days, 48 hours in all, have disappeared. No one saw him on campus, no one found him in the lab, and he has no memory of the missing time.

Uncovering what happened will take him on a journey far stranger and more dangerous than he expected, one with enormous consequences for the entire human race.
