Trick Play

Heston Lake has become one big sports bar every hockey season, and the narrator wants no part of it. She would sooner read a steamy romance aloud to a room than talk about the Heston U team. Still, she can't avoid the players, and two of them are her twin brother and his closest friend.

That friend is Alex Keller, a gifted winger and the campus heartthrob most girls secretly fantasize about. She assumed he had no idea she existed. Then he steps in when the football team starts teasing her, using a pet name and an arm slung around her shoulders. Within minutes she has a fake boyfriend for the next two weeks, and the arrangement was his idea, not hers.

She wants to return to her side of the line between the studious crowd and the athletes. Alex has other plans. He insists on protecting her for real, even though their relationship exists only on paper. The trouble is that he is too convincing. Their act fools everyone, including her.

Trick Play first appeared in the Billionaires and Babes anthology and has since been expanded with new material. It is the first book in the Heston U Hotshots series, followed by Iced Out, Switch Off, Penalty Play, Lucky Shot and Line Shift.
