Troubadour

It is the winter of 1208, and the dispute between the Pope and the Cathars is growing more bitter. Lady Elinor, who is thirteen, is secretly in love with the troubadour Bertran de Miramont. She is also determined to escape a coming marriage to an older man.

Elinor runs away from her family's castle disguised as an apprentice troubadour. She has no idea of the dangers ahead, because the Albigensian Crusade is about to descend on her home region of Languedoc.
