Truesight

Every person in Jacob's colony is born without sight, and this has always been the way of life there. The community follows a belief called Truesight, which holds that living without vision brings people together, keeps them pure, and sets them free. Daily life in the colony appears ideal, and its residents seem content.

Jacob is approaching his thirteenth birthday, a milestone that will mark his entry into adulthood and bring many changes with it. He looks forward to what lies ahead, but just as the day draws near, something far more disruptive begins to threaten his future, starting with a sharp, burning pain in his eyes.

This is the first book in the Truesight trilogy by David Stahler Jr., written for readers aged 12 and up.
