Tuck everlasting

Ten-year-old Winnie Foster lives in the small village of Treegap. One day in the woods near her home she comes across a member of the Tuck family, who are hiding an extraordinary secret about a spring whose water stops anyone who drinks it from growing older.

Winnie is soon sharing that secret with the Tucks, and so is a malicious stranger. The family finds itself in an agonizing situation, because the knowledge is now in the hands of a child and a man who means harm.

Natalie Babbitt's novel for young readers deals with time, growing up and what it means to live forever. It has been adapted for film and as a stage musical.
