Twisted Prey

Lucas Davenport has dealt with Taryn Grant before. She is wealthy, charming and, in his judgment, a psychopath, and she has since won a seat in the U.S. Senate. Lucas always believed she would feel at home in Washington. He also believed she was behind three killings, though he never managed to prove it. He knows how people like her tend to behave. Once she has felt the thrill of getting away with murder, he suspects the craving will return, and sooner or later their paths will cross again. Now Lucas is a federal marshal with an unusually broad mandate, and rumors have reached him. Grant sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee, and word is she has found both the position and the contacts that come with it very useful. Pinning down those rumors will be as hard as it was the first time, and far more dangerous, because she now has power and access on her side. But Lucas has never let the matter drop, and he intends to settle it with her one way or another. Twisted Prey is a Prey novel from John Sandford.
