Unloved

Matt "Freddy" Fredderic seems cheerful to everyone who meets him. On the ice he is the Waterfell Wolves' star left winger, and off it he has a reputation as a ladies' man. In the classroom, though, he is repeating courses he failed while coping with dyslexia, dyscalculia and ADHD. A National Hockey League contract is waiting for him once he graduates, and to get there he first has to pass biology.

Ro Shariff has never had much luck in love, and she is assigned to tutor Freddy. She tells herself she is content with her on-again/off-again boyfriend, but what she really wants is genuine affection. As the tutoring sessions give way to late-night phone calls, the two come to understand what hurts each of them, and a friendship takes shape. Beneath it, each of them quietly nurses a longing they keep hidden from the other.

Unloved is a romance about two flawed people who gradually find that loving the right person is simpler than they expected, imperfections and all.
