Unsafe Hands

The day at Hoblong Hall was going smoothly until Gerald's inheritance went missing. Violet Cunningham, the household's commanding presence, had made up her mind that nothing would spoil the annual flower show in Lesser Muchton, a village event she ran with brisk authority among her parishioners and relations. Then a mysterious paper, whose contents no one knows, vanishes from a hiding place that was far too easy to find.

Detective Crankshaw is new to the work and often flustered as he tries to uncover the truth. Every step brings him into another tangle of Hoblong wrongdoing. Just as the pieces start to fit, Aunt Fan sets out on a midnight walk carrying a shotgun.
