ValHamster
About This Book
Emmy is once again the central figure in ValHamster, set in the Tails from the Apocalypse universe created by Angela Misri, whose work has been recognized with awards. She is widely regarded as the finest zombie hunter who ever lived, which is a remarkable claim for a hamster, but she relies on flame, anger and a fierce temper, and any undead person who gets in her way is in serious trouble. Her routine changes when the animals sharing her home decide to take in a weasel. Emmy sees this as a betrayal and concludes that trusting others is a mistake. A solitary fighter at heart, she sets out alone with one goal: eradicating zombies for good. Yet she keeps collecting helpless creatures along the way, including humans, rabbits, dogs and bears, and getting rid of them proves harder than she expected. Eventually she manages to lose them, and in doing so she learns that a life of being alone and unloved is worse than death. The book suggests that caring for those animals may have been what gave her the nerve to take on the undead in the first place.
