Vanshaj

Vanshaj tells the story of an elderly head of a household who is made to suffer through a struggle over succession within his own family. The family belongs to the bureaucratic class, and the story is presented as true to life.

The novel is also marked by deeply reflective passages, as it considers what it costs a patriarch to see his family divided over its legacy.
