Venetian Bind

Detective Marko Korb and his associate Kelan Su travel to Venice to investigate a murder and stop a devastating terrorist attack. Korb is fat, egotistical, and brilliant. Su is a Chinese-American woman who is a former Chicago police officer, a licensed attorney, and a martial arts expert.

The victim is Stefan Pakulić, a former Serbian paramilitary leader and accused war criminal. One suspect is the daughter of a Bosnian expat who rescued Korb from Pakulić's clutches during the war. This leaves Korb torn between solving the crime and sympathizing with the killer, which is the Venetian bind of the title.

The investigation uncovers Pakulić's link to Italian neo-fascists who are planning a terrorist action in Venice. It will take Korb's genius and Su's intrepid sleuthing to find the murderer, head off the attack, and protect the daughter of the man who saved Korb.
