Virago

Aelwen has grown weary of earning her living through brutal fights in the mud and longs to see her homeland of Corova regain the greatness it once had. Just as her fortunes seem to be turning and success appears within reach, a new adversary emerges from the darkness, putting Corova and the wider world at risk.

The story follows a woman whose ambition and strength may be all that stand between her people and disaster, and whose future seems to rest in her hands. Her hope is tested as she must decide whether her raw toughness is enough, or whether she will have to accept greater sacrifices and dig up what she has long kept buried in order to claim the power that lies within her. The book is also presented as the life of a legend.
