Wasted Years

Detective Inspector Charlie Resnick is handed a run of violent robberies that look alike, and he has seen this pattern before. A decade earlier, a similar wave of crimes brought him into contact with a frenzied sociopath. That period also coincided with the collapse of his marriage, when his wife left him for another man, a wound that has never fully closed.

As the robberies grow more savage, Resnick is pulled back into those old memories, which press in on him at the worst moments. He has to identify the men behind the attacks and stop them before anyone else dies.

The novel is a crime story set in Nottingham, part of John Harvey's series about Resnick, and it balances a police investigation with the detective's personal history.
