Weeping Tide

Something has gone badly wrong at the Sea. A carnivorous algae bloom known as the weeping tide is devouring the fish, creatures are attacking the nearby Elsewheres, and Lochmordra, the legendary beast of the deep, keeps surfacing without warning to swallow ships whole.

To investigate, the well-known Guardian Keeper Runa Rasgar is summoned, and her apprentice Barclay is brought along. Runa's longtime rival has also been called to the Sea, accompanied by apprentices of his own. As the two groups compete with increasing bitterness, Barclay, the only apprentice from the Elsewheres, struggles to keep pace with the others.

The answer to stopping Lochmordra lies in Barclay's mythical homeland, yet the rising flood of the weeping tide is closing in fast. Unless the rival groups set aside their old enmity and learn to work together, the Sea faces total destruction.

This is the second book in the Wilderlore series. Barclay must also confront a personal question: does he truly belong in the Wilderlands?
