When Darkness Falls

Eve Kelly pours coffee at the Dark Side Cafe, and to the people who know her, that is all she is. She has been mistreated by her boyfriend and has never found the strength to stand up to him. Her mixed ancestry places her in an uncomfortable middle ground, not ordinary enough to be fully human yet not counted among the supernatural. Most people assume she will never be capable of violence or of becoming anything more, and they are mistaken. What lies dormant in her blood begins to awaken, revealing a power she never suspected. She is not the only one who notices. Various supernatural forces learn what she is, and her familiar life is turned upside down.

When Eve is framed for murder, she has to flee and keep moving to stay ahead of those hunting her. The vampires hope to bring her under their control, the werewolves want her dead, and the corrupt supernatural police have issued an execution order bearing her name. Her only chance at survival is to embrace what she must become: a monster. That transformation may give her the strength to defeat her enemies, but it could also cost her her soul.
