Wild Outside
About This Book
Tulip loves being outdoors. Puddles, pinecones, flowers and feathers all delight her, and her pockets are always full of the things she finds. She wants to know more about everything she comes across on her daily walk. What is this stone, this plant, this seed? What is this tree, this leaf, this weed? Her questions start to get answers when she finds a nature trail drawn in chalk on the street outside her house. Along it she learns the names and uses of her favourite trees, plants and flowers. Then one day a carefully wrapped present is waiting on her doorstep, a book about nature from around the world. Tulip keeps learning a little more each day, but she still wants to know who is making the trail. Every tree, plant and flower Tulip meets in the story is given its name and a few facts. The illustrated book invites children to stop, look closely, learn the names of what they see and enjoy the nature around them, whether near home or farther away. Just outside the front door, there is a whole world to explore.
