Winging It

Gabe Martin has built his life around hockey. His teammate Dante Baltierra has a lighter plan: enjoy the season while working toward a place in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Neither of them has room in those plans for falling for someone on the same team.

When Gabe is outed, his carefully ordered world tips over. The upheaval follows him onto the ice, and the team slides into a string of losses. Of everyone around him, Dante is the last person Gabe would have expected to help him get back on his feet.

Dante's season is not unfolding the way he planned. Gabe's sexuality is not an issue for him, but his own is another matter, and he has always been a straightforward person who wears his feelings openly, so keeping his attraction to Gabe hidden is hard. Still, the team is struggling and Gabe needs him, so Dante sets out to pull his teammate out of his slump. Somewhere along the way he falls for Gabe without meaning to. Dante is unapologetic, funny, and very good at hockey, and Gabe finds him impossible to resist, even though a relationship with a teammate is a risky choice. Gabe, however, has kept part of himself hidden for years and struggles to share it, while Dante resents having to keep their relationship secret.

Winging It is the first book in the Hockey Ever After series. Readers who enjoy sharp, playful dialogue, romances that grow out of friendship, and stories set within a sports world are likely to find plenty to like here.
