Y2K

This essay collection looks back at the Y2K era, a stretch of years that shaped a whole generation. The period gave the world AOL Instant Messenger, the Hummer H2, bling era rap and low-rise jeans, along with McMansions and anti-Bush chain emails. The collection also deals with the darker side of those years, including the Abu Ghraib scandal and the subprime mortgage crisis. It treats the pop culture, the politics and the economic fallout of the time as parts of one story.
