Yellow Rose

Elizabeth Michaelson left Pennsylvania behind when drought ruined the land there. She headed for the open plains of Texas, where a single woman had few protections and many men would take advantage of her. Out on that frontier she meets True Paxton, a proud and striking man who gave up a privileged family inheritance to pursue life in the untamed West. His attention stirs feelings in her that she has long kept under control. Elizabeth is determined to hold on to him, and she will go to great lengths to do so, even when the choices in front of her become painful.
